Candice Swanepoel strutting the runway with the $10
million Fantasy Bra
South African blonde beauty Candice Swanepoel has just written her name into the history books as the first African model to wear the $10 million Fantasy Bra designed by Swiss jeweller Mouawad. This exquisite piece of lingerie has been worn by former top models like Gisele Bündchen, Miranda Kerr, Claudia Schiffer, Adriana Lima, Heidi Klum, Tyra Banks, and Alessandra Ambrosio and, the 25-year-old South African didn’t disappoint as she looked electrifying and enchanting on the runway in Manhattan. The bra which came with a matching belt, features 4,200 precious gems including rubies, diamonds and yellow sapphires. The bra – nicknamed ‘The Royal‘ was beautifully worn by Candice and the overall look was completed with an 18-carat gold setting and 52-carat pear-shaped ruby that hung from the center of the bra. The whole idea of the fantasy bra is to embrace luxury because nobody has ever bought any of the 7 bras ever made. Not only would it be super difficult to find a buyer because of the price of the lingerie, it would also be difficult to find someone with the exact size because each piece ever made was custom made to fit the body of the wearer. So what does this mean? A waste of money? Another PR stunt for Victoria secret? You be the judge. All we know is Candice Swanepoel just made history and as an African, this is a story that should motivate you to believe that anything is possible.
