It looks like Meek Mill will have to wait a little longer before he's officially released from jail.
A judge presiding over the Philly-native's case denied the rapper's request for early parole to return to music and support his son, NBC 10 reports.
Following an appeal in which many expected the rapper to be released from custody, a judge in Philadelphia, Genece E. Brinkley, instead rejected the request for early parole stemming from an arrest for a probation violation, MTV reports. Mill has already served more than a month since being sentenced on July 11.

Still, the request was denied by the judge in front of a packed courtroom that included members of Dreamchasers, reps from Atlantic and Maybach Music Group, and DJ Khaled.
Mill’s attorney, Christopher Warren, is not giving up, and noted “The case is pending in front of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, we will file amended paperwork in the court tomorrow, asking the Pennsylvania Supreme Court to do what this judge refuses to do – recognize that mistakes were made and correct them.”
