Oprah winfery honoured with education doctorate in south africa

On Sunday, 26th June 2011, there was an academic ceremony with an exhibition and a touch of show biz in South Africa when Oprah Winfrey was awarded an honorary Doctorate for her services in Education. There were massive cheers to Oprah as she entered the room.Oprah has been seen as one of the most powerful women in the world. It has been 24 years since Oprah Winfrey established her Leadership Academy in South Africa. The aim of the academy is to take young girls from modest backgrounds to the bright reaching talent of growth to become the leaders of the future. It is without doubt and controversy that the school and Oprah Winfrey have been endorsed by former President Nelson Mandela. Many of the people that you see in the school are ordinary South African; many of them have never been to University before.  The real hope is that by having such a prominent figure in their midst, it will inspire other young South Africans especially women to follow
