A recent gathering of friends and family ended in 30 guests visiting the hospital after eating Ugba, an Igbo delicacy, which was supposedly poisoned.
The dish, which needs to ferment for a considerable amount of time before it can be eaten, was reportedly purchased at a market in Owerri.
Many of the guests were admitted to hospital with symptoms of dehydration.
According to Vanguard, some of the guests were in a critical condition and doctors battled to restore their health.
