KILLERS OF STUDENTS IN YOBE WILL GO TO HELL-JONATHAN

The massacre of over 29 students and a teacher of the Government Secondary School in Mamudo village, five kilometers from Potiskum town, Yobe State, has been described as “barbaric, horrific and wicked”, by President Goodluck Jonathan, who added that the perpetrators will burn in hell.

Information Nigeria recalls that at about 3am on Saturday, while most of the students were asleep in their hostels, they were set ablaze by unknown gunmen who attacked their school.
Those who attempted to flee from the raging inferno where shot by their attackers.

Some of the injured students, according to reports, are in critical condition and under intensive care at the hospital where they are being treated for various degrees of burns.

In his reaction to the Yobe school killings, Mr. Jonathan, who spoke yesterday in a statement through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Reuben Abati, rained curses on the attackers just as he sympathized with families affected.

“The killing is barbaric, completely wicked. Anybody who will target innocent children for any kind of grief or emotional dysfunction will certainly go to hell,” Abati said.
“Mr President wants to assure Nigerians that these kind of desperate Nigerians will be flushed out of the system. Mr President is committed to the issue of the protection of lives and properties of all Nigerians and he wants to assure that the war against terrorists has been launched and will continue and the Nigerian government is determined to put an end to this menace.

“The president sympathises with the families affected and he stands by them at this moment of grief. The killing is most unfortunate most regrettable and Mr. President wants to assure Nigerians that any attempt by any group to undermine this government will be resisted.”

Meanwhile, Senate President David Mark has also condemned the violence. “Even in war situations, children and women are protected. Killing children is akin to cutting down the future of a people. This is inhuman, barbaric and unacceptable to any right thinking member of the society,” he said.
“For no reason, the lives of these promising children were needlessly cut down by the heartless people. This cannot be a way of life. Enough of these bloodshed,” he added.
