Okagbare wins long jump in Monaco
Blessing Okagbare claimed victory in the long jump event at the IAAF Diamond League Grand Prix event in Monaco this weekend.
The Nigerian, one of her country's brightest prospects for a medal at the upcoming world championships in Moscow, jumped an impressive 7.04, a personal best for her this season, to finish ahead of Rurria's Darya Klishina and Britain's Proctor Shara in second and third respectively.
Okagbare remains top of the Diamond rankings and has now increased her points tally to ten.
Earlier in the month, the 24-year-old also won the long jump event at the IAAF Diamond League Grand Prix in the Swiss city of Lausanne, and at the Birmingham Grand Prix at the end of June she upstaged illustrious rivals Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and Carmelita Jeter to win the 200 meters in 22.55 seconds.
