A gun fight between unknown gunmen and security operatives had occurred throughout last night till early this morning in Makarfi area of Kaduna State.

The resident said they have no exact idea as to cause of the shootings, but a police source in Zaria said it is an attack on some banks in the area by islamist militants.
Makarfi shares boundaries with Kano state and is the home town of former Kaduna state governor, Senator Ahmed Makarfi.
