Solidifying her status as an Independent Woman – Beyoncé Knowles has shown us, once more, that she only does things her own way! Yesterday (Dec 12) the diva released her fifth studio album, titled ‘Beyoncé, on iTunes . The project had absolutely no promotion or prior warning to her fans or the industry.
On top of this, the album is complimented by seventeen (yes, SEVENTEEN!) complete music videos!
Damn girl!
The “exclusive visual album” includes collaborations with industry heavyweights such as Jay Z, former band mates Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, Frank Ocean, Pharrell Williams, Justin Timberlake, Drake, including our very own writer Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie and her daughter Blue Ivy.
Speaking out on the surprise release, Beyoncé commented: “I didn’t want to release my music the way I’ve done it… I am bored with that. I feel like I am able to speak directly to my fans.There’s so much that gets between the music, the artist and the fans.”
Just another reason we should all bow down!
