WHAT do you do to a bare and rather basic, nondescript condominium unit?
One that is uninspiring and lacking in character? Hand it over to the capable hands of an interior designer, of course.
A 25-year-old engineer did just that.
He said: "Raymond, I have a limited budget but I would really like to work with you.
"I would love to have a nice and comfortable space to come home to every day. It has to be relatively easy to care for, too. Most of all, blue is one of my favourite colours."
Young engineer's apartment is a paradise of blue
Several pieces of vintage European furniture and antique sculptures from Myanmar provide a big dose of personality and character to the abode.
Two dry walls were erected to partially “screen off” the living room from the dining area and kitchen. The longer of the two dry walls created a foyer for the apartment.![]()
Feature walls with textured wallpapers and a body of well-curated contemporary art from all over South-East Asia add colour, depth and warmth.
The use of my client’s favourite colour, in its many shades, textures and forms, accented with browns and gold has transformed a space that was once a dull and empty box into a stylish and comfortable home.
Quips the affable client, “Coming home after a long day at work has never been more rewarding!”
