Brooklyn-bred actress Carol Ann Susi, an unseen force on "The Big Bang Theory," lost her battle with cancer and died in Los Angeles on Tuesday. She was 62.-- died Tuesday after battling cancer ... according to execs on the hit show.

Susi's unforgettable voice became a character in its own right as Howard's mom, Mrs. Wolowitz, a fixture on CBS' highest-rated comedy. Her off-screen, booming exchanges with her son in that distinctive brassy Brooklyn tone added a level of absurdity to an already outrageous comedy.
"My heart is broken. I will miss your smile. Your spirit is forever with us," show co-star Kunal Nayyar tweeted.
"The Mrs. Wolowitz character became a bit of mystery throughout the show's eight seasons. What was not a mystery, however, was Carol Ann's immense talent and comedic timing."
Susi's rep described her cancer as "aggressive" ... and added it was a brief battle.
Susi's character was only seen once -- and it was only a quick glimpse during Howard's wedding. It's unclear how Lorre and producers will handle Susi's death on the show.
