As reported by Syracuse.com, Mika Brzezinski was reading the teleprompter feed when she came across the word "Furry.
" Brzezinski hesitated while attempting to pronounce the unfamiliar term and eventually asked..."Did I get that wrong?" Equally as confused, co-host Joe Scarborough chimes in and asks, "What's a furry?"
To those unfamiliar to what Furry is, Wikipedia defines Furry fandom as a subculture interested in fictional anthropomorphic animal characters with human personalities and characteristics.
Although Brzezinski kept trying to read the story, she laughed throughout and kept pausing. The Huffington Post wrote that Willie Geist ultimately had to take over as Brzezinski and Scarborough broke out into laughter -- realizing what exactly the convention had been for -- and the segment ended with Brzezinski running off set.
