A teenage girl uploaded a photo of herself next to the body of a dead baby to Instagram which has put her in trouble as her school is deciding the appropriate punishment for the girl.
The selfie was taken on a school trip to the University of Alabama Birmingham’s Biology Department, where students were learning about the university’s anatomical donor program.
Cameras and cellphones were prohibited from the area where the bodies are stored, but this girl managed to take a selfie with a body.
With a big smile on her face, the Clements High School student posed in front of the body. In the background, someone is seen removing the sheet that covered the corpse.
The sheets should not have been removed during the visit as the bodies were donated for medical research purposes.
“Students was explicitly aware of the policies and one student violated them. This kind of disrespect is unacceptable and very disappointing. We will review our processes to ensure this does not happen again,” school officials said in a statement.
