Turns out life after winning an Oscar isn't always rosy.
After winning Best Supporting Actress in 2010 for her critically acclaimed performance as the abusive mother Mary in Lee Daniels' Precious, actress/comedian Mo'Nique says she was "blackballed" from Hollywood.
"I got a phone call from Lee Daniels maybe six or seven months ago. And he said to me, 'Mo'Nique, you've been blackballed,'" the 47-year-old The Parkersstar tells The Hollywood Reporter in a candid new interview. "And I said, 'I've been blackballed? Why have I been blackballed?' And he said, 'Because you didn't play the game.' And I said, 'Well, what game is that?' And he gave me no response."Mo’Nique admits that offers for roles in many of Daniels’ productions, including the hit Fox showEmpire, the film The Butler and an upcoming Richard Pryor biopic, didn’t come to fruition.
