Raised in Nigeria, Israel, Kenya and America, Bolanle Olukanni has seen a fair bit of the world but finds there is no place like home, here in Nigeria.
She graduated from Loyola University Chicago, in Chicago, America with Honours in a double degree, of BA Communications and BA International Studies.
During her time in Chicago she took acting courses and participated in an on-campus radio show. She is also a National Qualifier for Competitive Monologue Acting in America. Where she learnt the power of ones voice through social action inspired monologues.
After graduating from Loyola University Chicago, she decided she wanted to do her own part in contributing to the development of her country, Nigeria. Bolanle moved back to Nigeria to do her National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), where she spent her service year working for a non-profit organization in Ekiti, Nigeria.
During her NYSC service year, Bolanle and a fellow corps member started ‘Girls For The Future’, a gender based empowerment workshop for secondary school students aimed at teaching the girl child of their rights and providing mentorship for the students.
Upon completion of her NYSC, Bolanle entered into the ‘Search for Mo’s Co-host’ competition. She wanted to be a part of the syndicated talk show ‘Moments with Mo’ because of its great reputation in inspiring its viewers. Bolanle was chosen out of hundreds of other hopefuls to be one of the co-host alongside talk show host and CEO of EbonyLife TV ,Mo Abudu. ‘Moments with Mo’ airs on EbonyLife TV across forty-four different Africa countries and on TalkTalk television in UK. During the course of the show, Bolanle has had the opportunity to interview a variety of inspiring and influential entrepreneurs, celebrities and politicians such as Oscar nominated actor Chiwetel Ejiofor, Grammy award winning singer Brandy, Lagos State Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola, to name a few.
Recently, Bolanle has joined the hit reality music show MTN Project Fame West Africa as a co-host along side Joseph Benjamin. MTN Project Fame is produced by Ultima Studios and airs across various West African television stations such as on General Entertainment Television, Silverbird Television, NTA, Sound City and ONTV, to name a few.
