Obinna is a serial womanizer; every lady that joined the company after he became Senior Account manager has one story or the other to tell about him. You have to be either ugly or unattractive for you not to get the attention of Obinna.
Obinna is a very smart and intelligent young man; the type every employer is proud to have in their fold. He understood marketing very well and has enjoyed more than five years of consistent results. He is one of the reasons the Marketing and Activation Company he works for has become clients’ first choice. He works on all the accounts the company services. His brilliance shines through in all that he does.
It wasn’t a tough call when management decided that Obinna has to be involved in all recruitment exercises of the company. Obinna is the last person candidates will see in the recruitment process. Whatever choices he made were acceptable by Management. That is how powerful Obinna is. You only needed to hang around the company just for a couple of hours to know how powerful Obinna is at LMN & O Marketing and Activation.
In spite of his position, Obinna easily relates with the rest of the workforce. Once the candidates scale through his recruitment drills and are employed, Obinna takes it upon himself to provide the necessary support that will facilitate their integration into the system.
All these things put together became Obinna’s powerful weapon at LMN & O Marketing and Activation.
He likes women, he smirks at the mere sight of a lady; a feature everybody has come to know him with.
Obinna does not spare anybody. He sleeps with both the single ladies and the married women. Some of these women sleep with him because they believe that by so doing, they are protecting their interests in the company.
Obinna is not alone in this venture. I hear the culture is a wildfire spreading the length and breadth of Corporate Lagos. Bosses in workplaces are ravaging the young ladies in the name of protecting their interests. Once a guy is promoted to a certain position, he sees all the ladies below him as preys.
I remembered this Obinna story after Sonia told us how she had to quit paid employment because of the constant harassment she got the different companies she worked for. You that feeling when a man who may not be able to summon the courage to talk to you at any other place aside work, is constantly suggesting sex to you. The last straw that broke the camel’s back was the last place she worked. The Managing Director, her immediate boss and some of her colleagues were on her neck at the same time.
The MD kept mounting pressure on her to sleep with him even when he was fully aware she is married. Sonia threw in the towel when the man moved her to work directly with him . He said he wanted her to always be closer to him at all times. She resigned and ran away.
The most annoying ones are the guys at the Human Resources Department of most firms. They take advantage of the ladies that come to their department to regularize their papers or for any reason whatsoever.
Some bosses have even developed knack for married women and married women alone. That is the level they are in now. And surprisingly, it is no longer a case of intimidation, some married women willingly submit to their bosses. They see it as a way of protecting their jobs and the financial well-being of their families.
