Mike Brown & Eric Gardner Killings; In Retaliation, Man Shot Two Cops And Killed Himself

Abraham - December 22, 2014

Two NYPD officers were shot while occupying their patrol vehicle in Brooklyn today (Dec. 20).

According to the New York Daily News, the gunman “ambushed” the officers outside of the Tompkins Houses complex in Bedford-Stuyvesant area of the borough. Fleeing from police thereafter, the gunman ran to a nearby train station, where he inflicted a fatal gunshot wound on himself. CNN reports that both officers have died.

The gunman reportedly shot both officers in the head, “execution style.” After arriving at the Myrtle-Willoughby train station, one witness claims he was shot at least once by officers in pursuit. Police officials confirm that he was killed by his own gun, however. News sources are citing an increased tension between the community and police officers following the non-indictment in the death of Eric Garner as a possible motive, but that has not been confirmed.

The New York Post reported an alleged Instagram post by the shooter. The posts read “I’m putting wings on pigs today,” and “#ShootThePolice.”shooting2.jpg

These posts have also not been confirmed. We will update this story as details emerge.
