Bala Ibrahim, a police corporal working with a patrol team on night duty in Bauchi, capital of Bauchi State, shot and killed a police superintendent, Christian Eza, a former aide de camp to Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan of Delta State.
Until his shooting death, Mr. Eza served as commander of the Mobile Police (MOPOL 10) in Bauchi State.
The PPRO recounted.
“The killed senior officer was rushed to Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital *(ATBUTH) Bauchi where he was certified dead by a Medical Doctor and Corpse has been deposited at the Motuary for postmortem examination”.
The Bauchi state commissioner of police, Mohammed K Mohammed and his management team today visited the scene of the shooting from where he ordered for full investigation of the matter.
Meanwhile, the PPRO said the police suspect was arrested and detained while investigation into the matter.
No one has ascertained as to why the police corporal chose to fire the shot at his superior officer.
