On International Women's Day when Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in his message, "Our heads hang in shame when we hear of instances of crime against women", Ludhiana(In India) added to that disgrace. A 21-year-old employee of a five-star hotel was abducted and gang raped in a car by three unidentified persons in the wee hours of Sunday here.
She was returning to her paying guest accommodation from a friend's place around 1.15am when she was abducted by the unidentified men from Rajguru Nagar locality and gang-raped. According to her friends, she had left her work place in the evening and reached her room around 7pm. She went to her friend's place, which is just two streets away, at 8pm.
In her statement, the woman, who works in the housekeeping department of the hotel just across the road, said she was walking to her residence when a white Maruti 800 car with three men inside pulled up beside her. The front number plate of the vehicle was covered with a black cloth. She was dragged inside the car and when she struggled to escape from their clutches, she noticed the rear number plate but could see only 'PB 10' (Ludhiana).
