RUGA: ''30 days is too long'' FFK Warns Coalition of Northern groups

Former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, has blasted the Coalition of Northern  groups who on Wednesday July 3rd, issued a 30-day ultimatum to state Governors, particularly those in the South, to accept and implement the RUGA Herdsmen settelement policy or face the consequences. Reacting to the threat, FFK in a series of tweets, asked the group to immediately carry out their threats as 30 days is too long to wait. According to him, the North is about to reap the Whirlwing it has sown. 

Shehu Sani mocks Northern group over threat on suspension of RUGA, calls them 'Masquerades'

Shehu Sani, the former Senator representing Kaduna Central District at the red chamber, in a tweet shared earlier today, mocked the Northern group who issued a threat to the Federal Government and Governors over the suspension of RUGA. 

It was reported yesterday that the spokesperson of the Coalition of Northern groups, Abdul-Azeez Suleiman, issued a 30-day ultimatum to governors who are opposed to the RUGA settlement program to reconsider their decisions.

“While we warn all state governments that stand against the implementation of the Ruga Initiative to desist and give peace a chance, we place President Buhari and the Federal Government on notice that they must completely stop this raging madness within 30-days beginning from today, Wednesday,” he said.

Reacting to the comment, Shehu Sani described the group as clownish, comical masquerades and vendors of anarchy. He tweeted; 

"The ‘northern group’ that issued ultimatum to the FG (federal government) and quit notice to others are clownish and comical masquerades and vendors of anarchy” 

Senator Elisha Abbo granted bail

Senator Elisha Abbo who was detained yesterday after he surrendered himself to the Federal Capital Territory Police Command, following a video of him assaulting a nursing mother at a sex toy shop, has been granted a conditional bail. 

While it remains unclear if the lawmaker will be charged to court, it was gathered that he regained his freedom at noon on Friday after meeting the conditions for his bail.

The Commissioner of Police in charge of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command, Bala Ciroma who did not disclose the bail conditions granted Senator Abbo, had promised to provide a personal and round-the-clock supervision of every facet of the investigation including the forensic analysis of the video

Not long ago, Petrpobas, the NNPC of Brazil was rocked by a kickback scheme-a corrupt practice that almost brought Brazil to her knees. This scam saw more than 800 million dollars bribes by big construction and engineering firms in return for inflated contracts with petrobas .Brazil almost came to a halt, until heads began to roll. As we speak , more than 50 individuals have been charged, including a former president, leaders of the senate and lower house respectively. Contrast that to Nigeria where the current Emir of Kano it was who accused the NNPC (Headed by the same Deziani) of one of the greatest heist of all time on the Nigerian people. Instead of a proper investigation (PWC? common, they even told you that the “procedures we performed did not constitute an examination or a review in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards or attestation standards.”), Uncle Joe turned a blind eye. Till this day,It’s been business as usual, nobody is answering to anything even with the so called forensic report which clearly shows that there was a scam against the people of Nigeria-one perpetuated by human beings not ghosts.

Not long before the general elections, Saharareporters leaked a tape of the then minister of state for defence, Musiliu Obanikoro, in a conversation that indicted him of electoral fraud in Ekiti State. We awaited our C-IN-C’s reaction with bated breath. What we got? ‘’It’s all fabrication, why should I investigate something that is not real?’’. Oh my world, even children could allude to the authenticity of that tape. Musiliu Obanikoro (just like Abba Moro under whose watch some of our unemployed youths met their untimely deaths in the name of a sham called recruitment exercise), is still a minister in his cabinet as I type.

There was an argument albeit an unnecessary one on some social media platforms yesterday comparing corruption during GEJ’s regime to OBJ’s.  This was in reaction to a leaked tape again by guess who, saharareporters, which revealed that Anne Welsh, CEO of Olusegun Obasanjo Foundation OOF, plotted to launder money through the foundation for a cut of $900,000(Nine hundred thousand dollars). 

For me, it is sad that Nigeria has been badly dealt with by her leaders that we now have to compare regimes with repect to corrupt practices.But then again if we have to argue or discuss that ,then OBJ's got nothing on GEJ.

I don’t like former president Olusegun Obasanjo. I have always thought him a cunning and even corrupt man. If not for the stance of this government on corruption,people like him should be coughing off what have been ripped up off us. in fact I, to a large extent blame him for the agony that has beclouded this country in the last 16 years. We tolerated his 8 years at the helm-8 years of no real good,but  foisting another 8 years of ineptitude firstly with a sick Yaradua and then a venal Goodluck Jonathan was the last straw for me. It is unpardonable, but then again, there is corruption and there is the Goodluck Ebele Jonathan's out-of-this-world kind of corruption. The last 6 years has shown us that this regime and corruption are inseparable. ‎Atleast under OBJ we witnessed some heads roll,not this one. Corruption became an arm of government and there is no disputing the fact that this regime would go down in history as one that watched it's people drown, stood by and enjoyed the show.

We just heard Anne was relieved of her duties immediately her deal with the two lebanese was found out late last year and then I thought to myself, would GEJ have fired Anne Walsh?‎ In your honest opinion,what do you think?

PS: This government had to get a parting shot for the parting gift it decided to give us after we booted them out. I mean, what sort of government becomes so heartless as to deny it's people Electricity and Fuel under this hot sun?
God is great for not allowing another 4 years of this ignominy. We would not have survived it.

Buhari Said He Will Investigate Sanusi's Missing $20Billion Dollars Allegations

President-elect, Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari(retd.), on Sunday said his administration would take a second look at the claim by a former Governor of the Central Bank, now Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II, that $20bn, that was supposed to be remitted by the NNPC to the federation account, could not be unaccounted.

Buhari said this while receiving a delegation of party supporters and newly elected officials on the platform of the All Progressives Congress from Adamawa State at his campaign office in Abuja.

The President-Elect, who spoke in the local Hausa language, expressed surprise that instead of probing the allegations by the former CBN governor, the authorities chose to fire him.

According to him, since Sanusi’s claim was documented, his administration will take a second look at the document when he assumes power on May 29th.

Buhari said, “On the issue of corruption, I heard that some people have started returning money. I will not believe it until I go and see for myself.
“You all know what the Emir of Kano talked about when he was the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria. He said $20 billion dollars, not naira, $20 billion dollars, was unaccounted for; they said it was a lie. Instead of investigating it, they sacked him. And God in his infinite mercy made him the Emir of Kano. In any case, that is what he wanted. And since this was documented, the new administration will take a look at it.”

Court Freezes 'Ms. Uboh' Former Lawmaker's Bank Account

Justice Yunusa Mohammed of the Federal High Court in Lagos, capital of Lagos State, has ordered eleven Nigerian banks to freeze the accounts of a former female member of the House of Representatives, Doris Uboh-Ogunkoya. 

The court order arose from a lawsuit filed against Ms. Uboh-Ogunkoya by Sterling Bank Plc, alleging that she and her company had defaulted on a substantial loan. 

The lawsuit, which was filed by Dada Awosika on behalf of Sterling Bank, also lists the former legislator’s company, Dagasteel International Limited, as co-defendant.

Ms. Uboh-Ogunkoya was a House of Reps member from 2007 to 2011. She also ran unsuccessfully as a senatorial candidate of the Labor Party in the March 28, 2015 elections.

An affidavit by Mr. Tunji Bajowa, an official of Sterling Bank, disclosed that Ms. Uboh-Ogunkoya and her company received loans of $1,600,000 and N100 million to finance a contract awarded to Dagasteel by different bodies, including the Shell Petroleum Development Company (SDPC), the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), and the Pipelines and Product Marketing Company Limited (PPMC). Sterling alleges that both Ms. Uboh-Ogunkoya and her company did not service the loans.

Justice Mohammed’s ordered United Bank, First Bank, Zenith Bank, Enterprise Bank, Skye Bank, Heritage Bank, Keystone Bank, Mainstreet Bank, Union Bank, Diamond Bank, and Stanbic IBTC not to permit the defendants to make transactions on their accounts in the respective banks until the substantive suit was determined.

One killed, several injured as APC rally ends in bloodshed In Mafoluku

The last day of political campaign did not end well in Mafoluku, Lagos on Thursday as a former PDP chieftain simply known as RMD who recently decamped to the APC some days ago was murdered by a gang said to be loyal to MC Oluomo during a rally for APC candidate.

According to a PDP agent in Oshodi area who does not want his name in print, said the deceased coordinated the presidential election in Oshodi area as head of PDP agent but recently defected to APC earlier this week.

He added that the PDP the got information that some of it agents in the area was invited by an APC chieftain where they were offered money for them to decamp because the area is known as PDP stronghold.

An APC agent in Oshodi, Oladipupo Sulaimon said ‘’PDP members in Mafoluku attacked the APC during a rally that lead to the death of the man, Oshodi and Mafoluku have been at loggerhead with Oshodi for a very long time. The rally fueled the attack at the late hour of Thursday where a life was lost.

Sulaimo continued ‘‘the deceased is known for making trouble in the area. They attacked Oluomo and other people during the rally, the gang then respond and it lead to the death of a person. Oluomo cannot handle a gun it was his gang that killed him’’.

In his own version, Sadimu, The newly elected member of house of representatives in Oshodi Isolo constituency 2 said he was yet to get the detail of the deceased but the information available is that, the deceased was a prominent member of the People Democratic Party (PDP) who decamped to the APC at the early hour Thursday ‘’the news of his decampment to the APC at the early hour of Thursday came to us as a surprise because he was one of our prominent member, the party felt bad but we could do nothing to make him change his mind as there was no sign of disloyalty to the party but we felt that he was invited to the fold of the APC for them to kill him’’.

APC Chief Strangled To Death In Ondo

A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Igbara Oke Ifedore Local Government Area of Ondo state, Mr. Ayodele Kikiowo, has been murdered.

The source, who claimed to be his daughter, Modupe Kikiowo‎ said on Friday that her father, Mr. Kikiowo popularly called "Theo" in Igabara Oke was strangulated to death by his assailants.

The deceased was also the former chairman of the defunct Labour party (LP) in his ward 10 area before resigning his position for the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Eze Ndi Igbo In Lagos Breaks Silence, Responds To Oba’s Anti-Igbo Comment

The Eze Ndi Igbo in Lagos, Nwabueze Ohazulike, has appealed to Igbo residents in the state to remain calm ahead of Saturday’s gubernatorial election.

In a press conference at his palace in Lagos, Wednesday, Mr. Ohazulike said that he was not part of the group of Eze Ndi Igbos who paid a courtesy visit to the Oba of Lagos on Sunday. “Eze Ndi Igbo of Lagos State, the head of the Eze Ndi Igbo structure in Lagos State, had no knowledge and was not involved nor invited to the so called courtesy visit to the first class Oba. Diezani Flees To London For “Medical Attention”

Reports gathered say following Diezani Alison-Madueke’s failure to get President Jonathan and ex-Head of state, Gen. Abdulsalam Abubakar to secure a soft landing deal for her from Gen Buhari last weekend, controversial Nigeria’s Petroleum Minister, Mrs Diezani Alison Madueke has fled the country to the United Kingdom.

It was gathered that Diezani has left the country through the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja on Monday aboard a British Airways flight. A reliable source in the presidential villa told iReports-ng.com that “madam had to take off far ahead of the inauguration of the government of Gen Buhari because she is scared he may turn his searchlight on the oil sector.”

When contacted to confirm the Minister’s whereabout, one of her aides who pleaded for anonymity confirmed Mrs Alison-Madueke indeed left the country on Monday morning but gave a different reason for the trip. According to the minister’s aide “it is true the Hon. Minister traveled but she went to take care of her health because she has been down medically and she needs proper medical attention.”

Ekiti Commissioner Of Police Redeployed Over Fayose’s Impeachment Saga

Taiwo Lakanu, the commissioner of police in Ekiti state, has been redeployed after he reportedly connived with thugs affiliated with Governor Ayodele Fayose to attack 19 state legislators who were on their way to the legislative assembly to begin impeachment proceedings against the governor.

The Inspector General of Police, Suleiman Abba, this evening ordered Mr. Lakanu relieved of his job after he investigated a petition detailing the connivance of the state commissioner of police with Governor Fayose.

China Responds To Hillary Clinton's Tweet

Hillary Clinton, who has increasingly turned to Twitter as she plans her all-but-announced presidential run, upset the Chinese government on Monday with a message she posted on the social networking site.

"The detention of women's activists in #China must end," Clinton tweeted. "This is inexcusable."

The tweet linked to a New York Times story about five female activists in China who were arrested for protesting a wide array of women's issues. They stand accused, according to the Times, of provoking social instability.

The message did not go over well inside the Chinese government, according to Reuters.

"China is a country ruled by law. Relevant departments will handle the relevant case according to law," Hua Chunying, China's Foreign Ministry spokesman, said on Tuesday. "We hope that public figures in other countries can respect China's judicial sovereignty and independence."

 the Chinese reaction on Tuesday, noting how Clinton said in 2009 that pressing on human rights "can't interfere with the global economic crisis, the global climate change crisis and the security crisis" in China.

"We have to have a dialogue that leads to an understanding and cooperation on each of those," Clinton said in South Korea at the time.

Tinubu At War With Obasanjo For Nominating Soludo To Buhari As Finance Minister

Internal politicking over the formation of the cabinet of president-elect, Muhammadu Buhari, has started in earnest.

Although, some individuals have been penciled down for certain offices, selection of those to fill the coveted “juicy” positions may not be an easy task as powerful party members and others who gave Buhari support from outside the APC are pushing one or two nominees they believe can do a good job.

DAILY POST on Monday gathered that former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo may have been presented by former president Olusegun Obasanjo as the possible Minister of Finance for the Buhari administration.

Soludo was a member of the economic team for the Obasanjo administration prior to becoming the governor of the CBN.

Soludo’s presentation to the incoming administration as candidate for Minister of Finance is reportedly causing disquiet within the inner circles of the party, 247ureports said.

Many APC chieftains are said to be against his candidature on two grounds. One is that Soludo remains a card carrying member of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) and his appointment would been as taking from Peter to pay Paul.

The other is that it was under Soludo that the banking sector almost collapsed, a situation confirmed by former CBN chief and Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, a staunch supporter of the APC.

It was also under Sanusi that the banking industry went through a recapitalisation process that led to the reduction in the number of banks from 50 to 25.

His clean up also witnessed the prosecution of bank Chief Executive Officers who were discovered to have robbed their own banks by almost unilaterally awarding contracts to phoney organisations and companies they either own or had substantial interest in.

DAILY POST gathered that former Lagos State Governor, Bola Tinubu, is strongly against Obasanjo’s recommendation.

Sources say he had in fact reached an agreement with Buhari prior to the APC presidential primaries concerning appointment into ministerial positions.

Tinubu, it was learnt, extracted an agreement from Buhari, to which the president-elect appended his signature.

According to the agreement, Tinubu will provide names for nine ministerial positions.

Some of the positions are said to include Petroleum, Finance, Works, Federal Capital Territory and Interior.

It is to this end that the camp of the party’s co-founder, Tinubu, frowns at the presentation of Soludo as Minister of Finance.

Soludo, who is keen on returning to government, is reported to have been convinced by Obasanjo to accept the position.

It is however left to be seen if Buhari will oblige Obasanjo’s request or stick to his agreement with Tinubu.

Obasanjo played a key role in Buhari’s emergence as APC presidential flagbearer and his eventual victory at the polls, thus, his words would not be discarded with a mere wave of the hand.

Soludo had been heavily critical of the economic policies of the Jonathan administration.

The most critical was in the build up to the general election where he alleged that the current adminstration mismanaged over N20 trillion of Nigeria’s money.

His criticisms, which were published in major newspapers and websites, unsettled the Jonathan administration with the Minister of Finance, Nigozi Okonjo-Iweala, taking on Soludo in more than one rejoinders.

Governor Fayose Blocks Roads In Ekiti With Buses And Bonfires To Avoid Impeachment[Photos]-SHR

To avoid getting impeached by legitimate lawmakers from Ekiti state for gross misconduct, Governor Ayodele Fayose has embarked on blocking roads leading to the state capital, Ado-Ekiti with buses, logs of wood and bonfires.

However, sources said that since losing the Presidential elections on March 28th, 2015, President Goodluck Jonathan has refused to provide military and police officers to continue the shenanigans that have propelled Mr. Faye’s impunity in the state. President Jonathan is reportedly busy packing out of the Presidential Villa in preparation for civilian life.

Overnight several parts of Ado-Ekiti were blocked by aides of Mr. Fayose, who had vowed to resist lawmakers led by the legitimate speaker of the house of assembly from accessing the state capital to commence Mr. Fayose’s impeachment. The speaker has vowed to commence and conclude the impeachment of the governor as soon as feasible.

Obasanjo Recommends Soludo As Finance Minister To Buhari

General Muhammadu Buhari’s victory in the historic March 28th presidential elections have turned the political structures of the PDP on its head in a manner that marveled many within the country.

However, the uncertainties surrounding the staffing of the incoming Buhari administration appears to pose a more intriguing scenario. This is as sources say the horse trading for the sensitive ministerial positions within the Buhari administration has already commenced.

Ex-CBN Governor, Charles Soludo is said to have been presented by President Olusegun Obasanjo as the new Minister of Finance for the Buhari administration. But some APC big men are not happy…

Soludo had served as a member of the economic team for the Obasanjo administration prior to becoming the governor of the CBN.

Soludo’s presentation to the incoming administration as the likely minister of finance is reported to have raised eyebrows within the inner circles of the APC – who explained that Soludo remains a card carrying member of the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, a party that hates the APC with passion. They complained that Soludo cannot be allowed to reap where he did not sow. But Soludo is not really an APGA man, he only went to Anambra to contest governorship election and has since left.

It is also believed that APC national leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu is not comfortable with Soludo but since he has a lot of respect for Obasanjo, he is open to further discussion ahead of May 29.

Who Leaked The President’s Call To Buhari? Investigations Begins

President Goodluck Jonathan’s call on Tuesday March 31st, at 5.15 pm, to Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), winner of last Saturday’s presidential polls on the platform of the All Progress Congress (APC), that has been leaked to the public is being investigated.

A Presidency source who pleaded anonymity while confirming the probe, said the action has caused the seat of power serious embarrassment.

The source who was seen listening to the conversation again with some colleagues, said ?the probe is to ascertain whether the recording was leaked from the Presidency or was made public from Buhari’s camp.

The source further disclosed that should it be confirmed that ?it was leaked from the Presidency, those found culpable will face appropriate punishment. “Definitely, unauthorised release of a raw recording of the President’s telephone conversation, if from our (Presidency’s) end is a security breach that cannot go without being investigated,” the source said.

Meanwhile, the first family have started moving their personal belongings out of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, following the failure of President Jonathan to win his re-election bid.

Truth Unravels! Real reasons Pres. Jonathan conceded defeat

THE real reasons President Goodluck Jonathan conceded defeat in the 28 March presidential election even before its result was officially announced have been revealed.

According to an insider who disclosed how the final decision that led to President Jonathan congratulating his opponent and candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), General Muhammadu Buhari.

With the glaring irregularities in the election, particularly the issue of underage voters which was reported live by the Cable News Network (CNN), some elements in the president’s campaign team and PDP, it was revealed, had concluded plans to challenge the results.

According to the source, a meeting of PDP’s National Working Committee (NWC) and the campaign organisation with the president was called in the afternoon of Tuesday as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was releasing the result. The meeting was to deliberate on the outcome after it had become apparent that the president would lose.

Explaining the situation of that Tuesday further, the source revealed that while some of those at the meeting believed that PDP would have real legal cause, the elders and the president thought about the implication, especially the post-election impasse for the country.

Ekiti State Assembly Commences Plot To Impeach Governor Fayose - SHR

18 members of the Ekiti State House of Assembly have agreed to commence investigations into allegations of grave misconduct against Governor Ayodele Fayose.

The documents accusing Mr. Fayose of various acts of gross misconduct, a first step to his possible impeachment by the lawmakers.

In June 2014, Mr. Fayose, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), decisively won the governorship of Ekiti State after defeating then incumbent Governor Kayode Fayemi of the All Progressives Congress (APC) throughout the state. However, a major shadow was cast over the PDP candidate’s victory when SaharaReporters uncovered an audiotape in which several PDP politicians, including then Minister of State for Defense, Musiliu Obanikoro, Minister for Police Affairs, Jelili Adesiyan, former Senator Iyiola Omisore, and Mr. Fayose ordered Brigadier General Aliyu Momoh to use soldiers to intimidate and arrest APC members in a scheme to guarantee victory for the PDP governorship candidate.

One of the legislators in Ekiti State told our correspondent, “We are going to look at the allegations against Governor Ayodele Fayose in a responsible manner and make our decision in line with the rule of law and the overall interest of the people of the state.”
