Central African Republic Descending Into Chaos

Things are going from bad to worse for the people of the Central African Republic, where the government was overthrown in March by a military coup.

Health rights group Medecins Sans Frontiers says most aid agencies have withdrawn from the country due to security concerns, leaving the population to fend for themselves despite a collapsed health system.

Malaria and malnutrition are big problems in the country, but agencies are being robbed and looted repeatedly, making it unsafe for them to do their jobs. MSF said that the international community has not done enough to help end the crisis in CAR and have effectively abandoned the people there.

In response the UN and EU have promised to intervene.
