A YouTube video of a monk praying calmly in a vat of boiling oil has recently has been doing the rounds online.

The amazing stunt has left viewers wondering how the monk can keep from screaming in agony.

Social media users were enthralled by the possibility of this Thai monk's ability to defy physics with his 'magic'.

Unfortunately, sceptical scientists soon pointed out a few facts that pretty much ruined the illusion.

The monk, who is reportedly from Thailand's Nong Bua Lamphu province, looks at ease despite sitting in a vessel of oil with a fire raging underneath, reports Oddity Central.

He is also seen apparently sharing his magical powers with others by touching objects that they pass to him.

His followers believe that his touch can make their amulets or pieces of fabric powerful.

These objects are apparently sold to the locals and other places of worship.

Church Hosting Naked Paint Parties Loses Tax-Exempt Status

A church in Panama City, Fla., that hosted naked paint parties and slumber parties with the “sexiest ladies on the beach” has lost its tax-exempt status after authorities were alerted to its activities.

The Life Center: A Spiritual Community has been hosting a daily party schedule called “Amnesia: The Tabernacle” since Feb. 28, the Panama City News Herald reported. The string of parties — including the pyjama-and-lingerie Sunday slumber party and an event called “Wet n Wild” described as “White Water meets Tabernacle PCB with a little twerkin'” — is reportedly sponsored by a company called iDrink, and caters to college students on spring break.

Partygoers must pay $20, a donation that a sign at the front says goes back to the church, to enter a room with walls bearing t-shirts of stick-figures performing oral sex and the words “I hate being sober.”

The property is owned by Markus Bishop, a former pastor of the Faith Christian Family Church, who could not be reached by theNews Herald for comment.

“I’ve been in a lot of nightclubs and I’ve been in a lot of churches,” said Panama City Beach police chief Drew Whitman. “That isn’t a church.”

Coscharis Did Not Give Me A Rolls Royce Car - Pastor Tunde Bakare

The Serving Overseer of Latter Rain Assembly and President of Latter Rain Ministries, Pastor Tunde Bakare, has refuted a story today which claimed that Cosmas Maduka of Coscharis Motors had attempted to bribe him with a Rolls Royce Phantom luxury car.

The pastor, speaking to SaharaReporters on the phone from Lagos, said he never told anyone that Coscharis was the source of the car gift he rejected during his 60th birthday celebrations.

He said the car was not an “attempted bribe”, as reflected in our story, but a gift.  He explained that he rejected it because he did not need a luxury car of that magnitude while Nigerians wallow in abject poverty.

Asked if he knew how the car was purchased or by whom, Pastor Bakare said he couldn’t tell, but vehemently denied that Coscharis had anything to do with it. Coscharis has not officially denied involvement in the car gift saga. The automart had publicly stated in 2013 that it has the official franchise as the sole distributor of Rolls Royce cars in Nigeria.

President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama made a quick stop in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday to pay respects to the late King Abdullah, and to hold meetings with the new leader, King Salman bin Abdulaziz. But one aspect of the encounter stood out to reporters covering the receiving line at the palace: the first lady shook hands with the king.

Islamic law generally forbids men from touching women to whom they are not related. However, that rule is often times overlooked when official diplomatic delegations visit the kingdom.

Islamic experts also point to another central theme of Islam: hospitality. When one is a guest in someone's home, they are treated as family.

Obama also did not cover her head, eschewing strict religious and cultural customs in Saudi Arabia, where women wear a full-body garment called an abaya and cover their heads with a hijab or the more conservative niqab, which has only a slit for the eyes.

But the U.S. State Department advises other American women visiting the country that they could face problems if they don't cover their heads.

"Women who choose not to conform to this dress code face a risk of confrontation by Mutawwa (religious police) and possible detention/arrest," the State Department says on its website. "While most incidents have resulted only in inconvenience or embarrassment, the potential exists for an individual to be arrested, physically harmed, or deported."

Additionally, female tourists who don't abide by the dress code or sidestep other religious laws -- like walking in public unaccompanied or mingling with men who aren't relatives -- risk being harassed, pursued or assaulted by Saudi citizens, the State Department warns.

Reporters say they noticed that Mrs. Obama waited for a gesture to be made to her by the men who walked by, and if the man initiated a handshake, she smiled and shook their hand. If not, both she and the man politely smiled and nodded heads.

Muslims Finally respond to Charlie Hebdo’s new Mohammed cover with mixed emotions

Many Muslims object to any depictions of Mohammed -- respectful or not -- saying that such images defy his teachings and lead to idolatry.

For the secular satirists at Charlie Hebdo, neither of those concerns seemed to matter much. They often lampooned Mohammed, crudely caricaturing him as a backward, foolish figure.

It's not surprising that, in its first issue since the attack, Charlie Hebdo again put Mohammed on the cover. But this time, instead of showing the prophet in an unflattering light, the magazine struck a far different tone -- and was received by some Muslims in a far different way.

"My initial thought is that the cover is a near perfect response to the tragedy," said Hussein Rashid, a professor of Islamic thought at Hofstra University in New York.

"They are not backing down from the depiction of Mohammed, exercising their free speech rights. At the same time, the message is conciliatory, humble, and will hopefully reduce the anger directed to the Muslim communities of France."

Yahya Adel Ibrahim, an imam in Australia, counseled his 100,000 Facebook followers to follow the example of Mohammed, even if they encounter images that they believe are blasphemous.

Islamic Female Presenter, Actress Got Slapped On Stage By Man For Wearing Provocative Dress

Bollywood actress Gauhar Khan was slapped in the face during filming of the Raw Star reality television show in India Sunday evening by an irate audience member who claimed that the actresses' clothing was too revealing for a Muslim woman to be wearing.

Mohammad Akil Malik, 24, was arrested on charges of assault, molestation, and threatening behavior after he stood up and slapped Khan during a break in filming of the reality singing competition, according to CNN.

“Being a Muslim woman, she should not have worn such a short dress,” the Mumbai police quoted Malik as saying by way of explanation.

Malik was arrested and charged with molestation under Section 354 of the Indian Penal Code.

Khan took to Twitter Tuesday to thank her fans for their support after the incident:

Sign On N100 Note Not A “Star Of David”Pres. Jonathan Replied MURIC

The presidency is furious about allegations made by Prof. Ishaq Akintola, the president of the Muslims’ Right Concern (MURIC) that an image on the newly unveiled N100 note has the Star of David, a jewish symbol embedded in it.

In a statement issued by its Director, Prof. Ishaq Akintola on Sunday, the Muslim group had made some grave allegations against the president, including that the security system in Aso Rock was saturated with Israeli security operatives, while Jonathan had chosen to marginalise the North as was seen at the national conference.

But the President in his reaction explained that, while the purported symbol MURIC’s statement was referring to is the Star of David, “there is no where on that proposed note as indicated in the specimen that has been widely publicised where there is any Jewish or Zionist symbol or the Star of David.”

Christian Leader Myles Munroe, Wife, Daughter And Seven Others Killed In Plane Crash

President and Founder of Bahamas Faith Ministries International (BFMI) Dr. Myles Munroe, his wife, Ruth, and seven others, including two other BFMI pastors, were killed in a plane crash in Freeport, Grand Bahama yesterday evening, officials confirmed. Authorities said the plane took off from Lynden
Pindling International Airport (LPIA) at 4:07 p.m. and crashed while making an approach for landing at Grand Bahama International Airport at 5:10 p.m. 

BFMI’s Assistant Senior Pastor Richard Pinder was among those killed in the crash, according to BFMI officials. 

The Guardian also understands that BFMI Youth Pastor Lavard Parks and wife, Radel, along with Captain Stanley Thurston died.
One of the victims was said to be a foreigner. 

An eyewitness said the plane was flying low over the Grand Bahama Shipyard when it hit a crane and exploded on impact. 

The eyewitness said the plane then crashed into the junkyard area. 

 

There was widespread shock as images of the crash quickly circulated on social media sites. 

Munroe, 60, was traveling to Grand Bahama where he was set to host the Global Leadership Forum. 

The 2014 Global Leadership Forum was scheduled to begin today and end on November 13 at the Lucayan Resort Hotel in Freeport.
Munroe and his wife recently returned from a three-week tour of eight east African nations. 

The tragic accident sent shockwaves throughout the country.

T.B. Joshua "No-Show" At Synagogue Church Collapse Inquest, Coroner Calls For His Arrest

Pastor T.B. Joshua failed today to appear at a coroner's inquest, intended to determine how 116 people were killed in a September 12 building collapse at his Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) in Lagos.The pastor was called to present evidence that supported his claim that the church was attacked by terrorists flying over the building, something experts have ruled out. The pastor was also facing allegations that members of his church thwarted emergency rescue operations the day of the tragedy.

“The first three days (after the collapse) were marred by the so-called church sympathizers and the crowd,” said the head of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, Femi Oke-Osanyintolu, during the inquest. “By the time we attained momentum after 96 hours a lot of things had gone bad.”

“The crowd impeded our operation. They did not allow our personnel and equipment to come in. They frustrated the emergency workers at the scene,” he furthered. "Instead of allowing trained rescue workers with specialist equipment to search for survivors, only church members and volunteers were allowed to pick through the rubble," he said.

Oke-Osanyintolu additionally claimed that SCOAN staff were not forthcoming with details that would aid an effective investigation. “We were not allowed to do documentation. Photographs of the incident were not allowed," he said. "We asked for the manifest to know the number and identities of the people in the building, we were not given. We asked for the building plan, we were not given.”

Adulterous Wife Connive With Pastor To Murder Husband

According to news reports, Nwuguru didn’t initially raise eyebrows over the long hours his wife spent at the church because he thought she was attending to the things of God. Little did he know that the pastor was going beyond his divine commission, administering to the woman's body instead of her soul.

When Nwuguru got wind of the strong and deep romantic relationship between his wife and Odorimo, he naturally screamed blue murder. With their love affair known to Nwuguru, Odorimo and Roseline were deeply rattled, but refused entreaties to end the re­lationship. Rather, they allegedly connived to solve the problem permanently, and invited the devil to be their chief adviser.

On September 30, 2014, the unsuspecting Nwu­guru decided to visit his farm. Promptly, Odorimo offered to give him a ride on his motor­cycle. Along the way Odorimo stopped and dismounted from the motorcycle, and brought out a sharp machete and cut down his rival in cold blood.

At the headquarters of the State Criminal Investigation Department of the Ebonyi State Police Command where Pastor Odorimo and Roseline are being held as inves­tigation into the alleged murder continues, Odorimo spoke with Sunday Sun.

I am married and have five children. The deceased Nwebo­nyi Nwugwu was nice to me. He gave me a hectare of land to build my church. His wife, Roseline Nwuguru attended my church.

It was from there that I started having love affair with her. When the love was getting deep, we found out that the de­ceased was disturbing us and we have to plan for him.

On the day I killed him, I took deceased’s cutlass and cut him on the head. His wife also hit him on the head with a big stick. He died on the spot and we ran away to Benue State, but men of the local vigilance group arrested us and handed us over to the police.

An unrepentant Roseline Nwuguru, who hails from Ado Local Government Area of Benue State, corroborated the account of Odorimo said:

I have seven children for my late husband. He stopped people from entering the church because he had misunderstanding with Pastor Odorimo.

Actually I was having a love affair with Pastor Odorimo. I don’t regret my action and joining in killing my husband. He was a wicked man, because he prevented people from entering the church.

The Ebonyi State Commissioner of Police, Maigari Dikko has assured that the suspects would have their day in court once the police conclude investigations.

Teresa said: “We had been reading the Gospel of John, the fourth gospel, and it was a day like any other.

“I’d finished work, he’d finished uploading some of my pictures to the internet, we were chilling out listening to music, and we had an out of body experience together.”

“We came face-to-face with Jesus, and from that moment on our lives have been changed.”

She added: “I didn’t get any sense of condemnation from [Jesus], that all came from myself and from other people.

“I now realise that being a porn star was not what God wanted me to be doing, but he didn’t condemn me for it.

“It’s was more ‘When you’re ready, you can come with me.’

“It was really a testament to my faith that I thought ‘I’m going to have to cut this out and I have faith that God is going to lead me into something better’.”

Teresa now regards porn, homosexuality, and pre-marital sex as “symptoms of the spiritual state the world is in”.

Uk Government Bans Bishop Oyedepo Over Church Corruption

The UK Home Office has banned flamboyant Nigerian pastor, Bishop David Oyedepo, from entering Britain, a British government.

Mr. Oyedepo is known as the general overseer of the Living Faith Church Worldwide, otherwise known as Winners Chapel. Headquartered in Ota, Ogun State, the church has branches in numerous parts of the world, including the UK and US.

According to Saharareporters, the ban arose from preliminary investigations by Britain’s Charity Commission that determined that monies donated to Bishop Oyedepo’s church for charitable purposes were funneled to Nigeria to fund the preacher’s flamboyant lifestyle.

Bishop Oyedepo owns a plush private jet and has a fleet of expensive cars, among many other astonishing personal assets.

The Fight Continues: Chris Okotie Replies CAN And Oritsejafor

Pastor Okotie had earlier written an opinion piece, demanding for the resignation of CAN president, Ayo Oritsejafor over his involvement with the federal government in the jet scandal  which has sparked controversy over the weeks.

In reply to Okotie's criticisms, CAN criticized the controversial pastor's lifestyle, questioning his Christian faith adding that he was seeking for cheap publicity.

Okotie not known for staying out of controversy, responded to CAN on his Facebook page. He wrote: "I will not nobilitate such prosaic apologetic by a retort. Socrates once said to a young man, “Speak that I might see thee”. Now that CAN has spoken, even team Jonathan has spoken. CAN Replied Chris Okotie In Retaliation. ‘How Many Wives Has He?’

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has responded to recent call by the founder of Household of God, Pastor Chris Okotie that its president, Ayo Oritsejafor resigns as CAN president.

CAN speaking via the Director of National Issues, Mr. Sunny Oibe advised the preacher to manage his home and keep to biblical doctrines of one man, one wife instead of attacking Oritsejafor.

Mr. Oibe, further stated that Okotie was looking for recognition through Oritsejafor.

He said, “Is Chris Okotie a Christian? How many wives has he?

“He should go and sort out himself. Even the government has exonerated Pastor Ayo of all the allegations. So, who is Okotie? Well, it is laughable if Chris Okotie should demand that Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor should resign as President of CAN.

“Chris Okotie should remove the log in his eyes before he begins to see a peck in somebody’s eyes. Pastor Ayo had a soaring integrity before he was elected the President of CAN. Who elected Chris Okotie to become the spokesperson of Christians in Nigeria?

“CAN will not like to join issues with Okotie because doing that will amount to making him popular. He is looking for popularity which he doesn’t have through Pastor Ayo and he is not going to get it,” he told Punch.

It would be recalled that Okotie called for the immediate resignation of the president of CAN, over the alleged involvement of his aircraft in the controversial $9.3m smuggled into South Africa.

She was stunned to discover the outline of a face she believes to be the son of God.

The spooky imprint, which appears to have a tear falling from its right eye, is the latest in a series of chilling encounters at the property, reports the Birmingham Mail.

"So much has gone on here. A lot of people have been frightened.”

The image of Christ is the strangest of the strange encounters.

“We’d just had the floor laid down and I was taking a picture for my solicitor.

“When I looked at the image it sent a shiver down my spine. I could make out eyes, a nose, mouth, long hair and beard.

"A lot of people have said it looks like Jesus."
