Reactions When Facebook Is Down

Abraham - September 28, 2015

Yes, friends, the (not really) unimaginable has happened: the titan that is Facebook is down. We don’t usually raise our eyebrows too high when Facebook goes down for a minute, but it’s been in and out for a good 20 (update: 30!)minutes now.

For a company that makes millions in revenue per day, every minute is tens of thousands of dollars in ad revenue lost. After 35-40 minutes of outage, some are reporting that it’s back online. Others are reporting it’s still down. Sounds like it’s coming back online on a server-by-server basis. Update #2: Looks like it’s back up for most people now.

Raw Footage Of Mecca Stampede 450 Pilgrims Dead[Video]

Abraham - September 24, 2015

At least 717 people taking part in the Hajj pilgrimage have been killed in a stampede near the Islamic holy city of Mecca, officials in Saudi Arabia say.
Another 805 people were injured in the incident at Mina, which occurred as two million pilgrims were taking part in the Hajj's last major rite.
They converge on Mina to throw stones at pillars representing the devil.
Preparations for the Hajj were marred when a crane collapsed at Mecca's Grand Mosque this month, killing 109 people.

'Sudden surge'

Mina, a large valley about 5km (3 miles) from Mecca, is the location of the three Jamarat pillars and also houses more than 160,000 tents where pilgrims spend the night during the pilgrimage.

Video: KFC Accidentally Shows Porn On Restaurant TV

Abraham - April 11, 2015
A chuckling father recently filmed an adult film being played on an in-restaurant TV monitor at a KFC in Edmond, Oklahoma.
Gerald Whalen states on his cell phone video (below), “So, I’m sitting here in KFC,” and then points his phone towards the monitor where the sex scene is playing, noted the New York Daily News.
Heavy breathing is heard from the film, in addition to Whalen's laughing.
Whalen, his wife and their two sons, both age 6, were dining at the KFC when the brief incident occurred.
“I looked up from my plate, and we’re talking full nudity,” Whalen told KOCO 5.
Fortunately, the kids didn't see it, but Whalen said that another customer complained.
“He went and got the manager and the manager came running out and flipped the TV off really quick,” Whalen added. “I think she actually unplugged it.”

KFC said in a statement to KOCO 5, "We apologize for any negative dining experiences. This was an isolated incident, and we are taking measures to ensure programming like this cannot be accessed in the future."

Watch Black Guy Pretend To Be New In Town Why He Ask Citizens To Translate A Racist Comment

Abraham - April 09, 2015
The Lithuanian Centre for Human Rights posted a video of an unusual social experiment: Lithuanians responding to a casting call for an advertisement found themselves in a "waiting room" with a black actor pretending to be a recent immigrant to Lithuania.

The actor then requests help translating what someone wrote to him on Facebook, but the experiment subjects find themselves struggling with how to translate the comments, because they turn out to be a racist tirade against the actor. The video is intended to promote a newly-launched Lithuanian language website that is "full of advices [sic] on how all of us can react to racial, homophobic, other kind of bullying and hate speech".

Check out the video. How would you react to a situation like this? Do you think it’s an effective way to educate people about dealing with bigotry?

Forget Eminem; Here's The New Rap God

Abraham - March 23, 2015
When Eminem declared himself “Rap God” on his 2013 single, it was hard to argue. Arguably, no other MC has the verbal dexterity that Slim Shady continually exhibits on song, but on Thursday (Mar. 19), Action Bronson made a move for the godly title.

Bronsolino’s new “Mr. Wonderful – The Documentary” is meant to promote his upcoming Mar. 23 major label debut, but it actually has us questioning all that we’ve ever believed in.

During the course of the three minute and 30 second clip we meet a number of people who pray to Action and hang his glorious image on the walls in their homes. “It’s like a religion to dust these pictures,” says one Action worshipper about the Bronson pictures that hang in his home.

In another scene, a Latino family gather around the dinner table and say grace, thanking Action for their daily bread.
“He just represents all that is great and kind and good about humanity,” another lady adds.
Amen.
